Telephone conversations released Tuesday show Mayor Richard J. Daley and President Lyndon Johnson working urgently to stem rioting in Chicago after the Rev. Martin Luther King's assassination in 1968 — and Johnson later chastising Daley for not seeking his help earlier.
Perhaps history is destined to repeat – they used force in Chicago in 1968 when people were rioting and looting – only 9 or 11 died because the right people had the courage to use force and bring it to an end.... 2020 is out of control; it is possible someone will need to make that decision once again… some will die, others will learn. Violence must stop.

Lyndon Johnson and Mayor Daley had the courage – I was there.

If you disagree, then I suppose you are smarter than the President and Mayor in the history of 1968. But if you do disagree, have a better suggestion. Giving in is not an acceptable one. Locking them up will not work. So what then?
.
For the record – not racist at all - lots of white folks join in the rioting and looting. Bullets will affect them the same way.

Today's post was inspired by a very special young lady, who is a mom of 3 - all of whom I hope will live out their lives in freedom as we have known it - not under oppression of communism.
