The Coming Vaccine

The Coming Vaccine | INTELLIGENT WORLD TODAY | Scoop.it
The overall survival rate for those exposed to the coronavirus is likely somewhere north of 99.6 percent. COVID-19 mortality has largely run its course in a great many places (as viruses tend to do). And no vaccine has ever been successfully developed for any virus in the corona family.

Should this lead us to conclude that normalcy should not return “until we have a vaccine that we’ve gotten out to basically the entire world,” as Bill Gates insists?
Al Cannistras insight:

imagine a world with a virus that has more than a 99% survival rate - and yet the rats are ready to kill one another or jump off a cliff.....

Indoor dining in New York City is returning Sept. 30 at 25 percent occupancy, but plenty of restaurants are not confident that this will be enough to keep them afloat. Meanwhile, Los Angeles County has not announced any plans to allow for indoor dining to return.

80 Percent of People Who Test Positive for COVID Have This in Common | INTELLIGENT WORLD TODAY | Scoop.it
The study—which focused on a number of COVID-19 infections within private households, hospitals, nursing homes, and other institutions in England—shines a light on the importance of "silent spreaders," patients with COVID-19 who continue to interact with others, unaware that they are actually contagious, the BBC reports. According to the research, 78 percent of respondents who had COVID-19 said they didn't have symptoms on the day they got tested. That figure includes both pre-symptomatic patients, who eventually show signs of the virus, as well as asymptomatic patients, who never develop noticeable symptoms of the disease.
