While this is unavoidable as the IRS will take 6 weeks to send out all of the checks, in which they'd have no idea if someone has died after sending the checks. While they do say they want the checks back as a dead person doesn't need money, I feel like its the right thing to do so that with potential bills to be passed in a time like this, it can be given to people who are unemployed.

So easy to criticize – but the IRS doing a monumental job, so why not lighten up. If the undertaker notified them, if the bank tagged the account correctly, if the family did what they should do when dad passed, if, if if. OK – so $1200 was sent to a dead guy. Send it back – and make sure the dead guy doesn’t vote – again!
