Burberry, the iconic British fashion label known for its trench coats and classic plaids, apparently doesn't want its luxurious apparel and accessories falling into lesser hands. Burberry burned $37.8 million worth of unwanted merchandise last year in what The Times described as an attempt to keep its products from being discounted and sold to the "wrong people."
Used to know a bakery owner who at the end of the week (and being closed on the following Monday) threw out all unsold bakery products.
When approached to donate to the poor, adult homes, anything of the like – she refused. Instead, she paid for a dumpster to toss and haul. It was not a small bakery.
The point is – is destruction of food or goods the right thing to do?...
