My Life in Poverty: Surviving on $3 a Day

My Life in Poverty: Surviving on $3 a Day | INTELLIGENT WORLD TODAY | Scoop.it
The seven life lessons I've learned living in poverty
Al Cannistra's insight:

We look at this – living on $3 a day and think IMPOSSIBLE – but, yes indeed it is. I know someone close who did exactly that and survived – still does although slightly improved. It was interesting to observe how well the person hid it – no one knew – or maybe wanted to know. The person is well skilled at camouflage and outside of myself and one other person the details are not shared. The person is proud and would not want help from others so the dilemma continues. No good answers – as a friend there are limits on what you can do. I’ll echo the article author – HOPE is important.

Robert Vicino believes the rich don't live on the same scale as ordinary people in today's society—so why should that change after the end of the world? For a mere $35,000, his company will make their apocalypse experiences truly swanky.
Al Cannistra's insight:

we had bomb shelters when I was growing up - of course they did not look like this....   but, reality check assuming you survive (again, old memory while at school, go in the hallway, sit on the floor, cross your arms, and bend your head forward is going to do what?) - but if you do survive the blasts - what will you eventually come out to? and when?
